Rainbow Waffles

As a beginning to 2012 being our year of adventure, we toasted the start with rainbow waffles for breakfast.

Supplies used: our super-duper waffle maker (thank you Grammy!), our favorite waffle mix (Krusteaz), batter divided into individual dishes, a variety of food coloring and a sioux chef by the name of "hot cuppa' Joe".

I slowly poured the colored batter from the bowl and used a toddler spoon to help guide me. I started at the center of the waffle maker and worked towards the outside rim. (You could also put the individual colors in plastic bags, cut a hole in the corner and pipe it out but I prefer the faster method.)
Let the waffle cook and voila!
 The finished product....
....divided into two with cool whip clouds.
...and plated as an adult version for Daddy.
Um, um gooooood!
(Idea adapted from this amazing Supermom on her very cool blog.)
